Hello! I’m Shannon.

I live in Borrego Springs, California, a small desert town nestled within Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. My husband and I moved here in late 2024, and we’ve fallen in love with the sweeping desert landscapes, the warm, welcoming community, and a life lived at a slower, more intentional pace.

How We Got Here

We first started visiting the area a little over 10 years ago, after moving from Oregon to Southern California. The desert captured our hearts immediately, and for a decade we wondered what it might be like to actually live here. Eventually, we decided to stop wondering and just do it — because life’s too short to only imagine.

Desert living spoke to us, and we listened.

A Little About Us

We’re both working professionals: I’m a managing editor in digital marketing, and my husband works in local government as an information systems analyst. Thanks to flexible remote work (I’m fully remote, and he’s hybrid), we were able to make this move and have this experience.
