Every January, Borrego Springs quietly reshapes itself into something a little different: still desert, still open sky, but alive with stories told on the big screen.
The Borrego Springs Film Festival returns this year from January 14–18, 2026, and for a few days our little town becomes a place where filmmakers, neighbors, and visitors come together to celebrate independent cinema.

About the Film Festival
The event kicks off with free screenings at the library on opening day (no tickets necessary) and continues with multiple film blocks at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center. You can purchase a full festival pass for access to everything or individual block passes.
Throughout the five days, there are panel discussions, networking events, an opening gala, a Saturday party, and, by Sunday evening, an awards ceremony to celebrate filmmakers and their work.
The lineup this year is as diverse as ever, with films from around the world and across genres (from thoughtful documentaries to bold narratives and inventive shorts) — a world of stories waiting to be shared.
If you’re in Borrego Springs or visiting the festival from out-of-town, even a single block pass can offer a glimpse into this world of unique cinematic voices. I recommend you pull up a seat.
